Meetings and ConferencesCrow Canyon archaeologists and educators participate in a wide variety of meetings and conferences—part of the Center’s mission to share the results of its work with other professionals and the interested public. Many events are open to the general public; some require registration and the payment of a fee. Click on the links to the sponsoring organizations for more information. 74th Annual Meeting of the Society for American ArchaeologyApril 22–26, 2009 Crow Canyon researchers will join their colleagues from around the country at the 74th Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology (SAA), held in 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Society is the leading professional archaeological organization in the United States. Crow Canyon will be well-represented at this year's meeting, with staff participation in a number of venues. Lab Program Coordinator Ben Bellorado and former research director Richard Wilshusen are co-organizing a symposium that will examine Pueblo and Navajo histories in the pivotal region between Mesa Verde and Chaco. In addition, Lab Analysis Specialist Fumi Arakawa will present a poster on the GIS modeling of quarry sites in the central Mesa Verde region, and several staff members will present papers in the general session.
