Special Events
Throughout the year, Crow Canyon holds a number of special events—on campus and in cities across the country—to raise awareness of, and support for, the Center's mission.
Crow Canyon Open House Festival
Saturday, August 29, 2009
10:00 a.m–3:00 p.m
The public is invited to attend a Crow Canyon "Open House Festival" on Saturday, August 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The campus will be open to visitors, and a variety of activities will be offered to introduce the public to the Center's research and education programs.
Tour Crow Canyon's pithouse and pueblo learning centers, the Pueblo Farming Project gardens, and the Center's research and education labs. A teachers workshop will be presented, and everyone can try their hand at traditional American Indian games and throwing a spear with an atlatl. Visit With Respect—the award-winning video produced by staff members from the Anasazi Heritage Center and the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center—will be shown, and Crow Canyon's Gift Shop will be open.
Food and drinks will be available for a charge. There is no admission fee. For more information, call Amy at 970.564.4341.
